Dr Nira Chinniah

Dr Nira Chinniah is a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
Dr Chinniah graduated from the prestigious University of Sydney Medical School with Honors. Thereafter, she completed her Dermatology training at the major teaching institutions of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital and the Skin Hospital at Darlinghurst. Her varied training has also given her unique insight into the rural practice of dermatology, having trained at Dubbo, Griffith, Central Coast and Coffs Harbour.
Prior ro commencing her Dermatology training, Dr Chinniah worked as a research fellow at Westmead and Liverpool Hospitals where she was involved in multiple clinical trials and research projects in skin cancer management, psoriasis and hidredenitis suppurative. She has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals. She regularly attends conferences, where she has presented her research projects, including winning the Young investigator award at the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy annual meeting.
Dr Chinniah has also completed a Masters in Medicine and a Diploma of Child health from the University of Sydney.
In addition to skin cancer diagnosis and management she has interest in all aspects of medical dermatology including management of psoriasis, eczema, acne, connective tissue diseases, genital dermatology and paediatric dermatology.
Dr Chinniah has an interest in education and teaching having been a clinical lecturer with the University of Sydney and with ongoing involvement in the teaching of medical students, junior doctors and GPs.
